Amazing Mistakes

I’m
going to share something a little personal here…as opposed to the non-personal
approach I usually take. Anyway, this is
one of those stories that some close friends said I should share. This “mistake” seemed to be a message that
some of you may need to hear.

 So,
there I was, minding my own business when my phone rings. On the other end was an automated system
wanting me to verify my credit card information before the call could
continue. Needless to say, I hung up and
called my credit card company. Sure
enough, it was them trying to reach me.
Apparently, something had gotten crossed and they hadn’t received my
payment.

 After
several minutes of looking through the records, the lady on the other end of
the line found the problem. She quickly
corrected the situation and apologized for the confusion. So far, this is just one of those mistakes
that happen and we have to deal with in our lives. Well, then we took a turn for the incredible.

 When
the lady first answered, she mentioned she was in a call center in South
Dakota. As she was about to end the
call, my mouth blurted out, “Do you ride?”
To which she replied, “Yes, we do.
In fact, my husband and I will finally get to go to Sturgis for the
first time this year.” To this, I
replied, “Are you a Christian?” And
again, the answer was, “Yes.” So, being
the salesman I am, I asked, “Do you wear Christian du rags?” “Well,” she started, “I would, but we can’t
find any around here. My husband and I
had seen one in a shop, but when we went back for it, there were just skulls
and Harley Davidson ones. Why, do you
know of a website or something?”

 This
just made my job way too easy. “Well, as
a matter of fact, I do.” Now, you’re
probably thinking this is some kind of ad for Christian du rags…and, you’d be
wrong. This is a story of trust and
obedience. I went on to tell that lady
if she’d give me her address, I would send her a postcard with a discount code
on it for our website. (Yes, if you send
us an email, I’ll give you a discount code, too.) She then explained that company policy didn’t
allow them to do that. So, I said, “You
have our email on the screen in front of you, right? So, just write down the last part of it and
that is our website. Later on, use the contact
us portion to send it…IF you feel comfortable doing so.”

 Well,
the next thing I know is an email drops in from this lady’s cell phone with her
contact information. Knowing the trust
she had placed in me by giving that information, I quickly got a postcard ready
to send. And then, that gnawing
sensation came over me, “send a book, send a book.” So, I packaged up one of our new books, WITH ARMS WIDE OPEN, and sent it along
with the discount code.

 A
quick side story here. For those of you
who don’t know what we do, my wife and I along with our kids set up at
festivals and flea markets across Northern Louisiana and Southern
Arkansas. We not only sell jewelry and
such, but we also spread the Gospel of Jesus to those who don’t go to
Church. And, sometimes, we give away a
book or two just to let people have a taste of what God has done in our lives.

 So
anyway, I sent the book off as I felt led to do. That night, we received an order from that
woman. She received the books a few days
later completely unaware we had sent them.
She then messaged us back on Facebook to share her story with us.

 Even
though she is about to go to Sturgis with a group of Christian Bikers, her and
her family have been going through some tough times medically. Any of you who have children know that a sick
child is one of the most heartbreaking things a parent can deal with. This lady has definitely had her hands full
from the story she shared.

 But,
at the end of it, she thanked us for sending those words. For a complete stranger to reach out to her
without even knowing their situation, brought that sense of awe and comfort
that only the Good Lord can bring. That
simple gesture restored her faith in humanity and gave her comfort that God is
watching over them.

 I shared
this story because we never know how our simple actions will affect
others. Instead of yelling at the woman
who answered the phone that day, I explained what was going on. The lady on the other end fixed it, which
brightened my day. By sharing a few
moments with her, I made her day a little less heavy.

 God
doesn’t make mistakes. Although we feel
like we’re the victims of circumstance all too often, we need to keep our
composure and continue praising God. He
knows what He’s doing. Sometimes, we just
need to stop trying to drive and hang on for the ride.

 Hopefully,
this story has lifted your spirits.
Better yet, I pray this story impacts your life for the better. May God bless you and keep you in all that
you do in His name. Remember, the fastest
way up is to kneel down. And, you’re right;
I didn’t give you the website address, because this isn’t an advertisement.

Years ago
in a world of the flesh, a young man trained to be a killer. His fears were removed and his conscience
silenced for the good of his country.
His hands and his rifle were all he needed to silence the enemy.

 He was a
soldier’s soldier. He could disassemble
three different weapons (an M-16, .50 caliber machine gun, and 9MM pistol) into
a pile of parts and reassemble them all correctly while blind folded. He could out drink and out fight any man that
dared challenge him. He sewed his own
wounds using a sewing kit from his gear.
There was nothing that stopped him from rising through the ranks.

 In the
field, he was the first into combat. He
had a desire to kill and he allowed it to consume him in every way imaginable. He fought for God and Country, but God wasn’t
there. His life was Hell on Earth and he
controlled it.

 Years after
his discharge, he became acquainted with the Word of God. He learned about Jesus. The walls around his heart crumbled and he
was set free. He realized what he had
done in his previous life and asked for forgiveness.

 His new
pledge was to defend God and Country.
And, this time he would have God by his side. He has vowed to spread the Word of God all
across this great nation. His training
will now be used to save lives rather than destroy them.

 He now
takes Jesus through the trenches into the schools that abandoned Him. He escorts Him through the Town Halls and
into the Capital Buildings of <st1><st1>Washington,

White House and into Congress.</st1></st1></st1>

 He knows
now that he is not in control of his life.
He has surrendered his all to God Almighty. There is no mission too small or too big to
keep him at bay. His enemy is now
spiritual and he’s prepared for the battle.

 Although
his army is few, it is mighty. He is
willing to lead this band of society outcasts into Victory. This soldier has no name, but he can be found
leading through the hearts of the good all across this great land. You can join in the efforts to defeat the
evil one by visiting your local Church.
There will be someone there to properly arm you for the Main Event yet
to come.

 Remember,

Have you
ever wondered what you would want to do if you knew you were dying? What kind of places would you want to
visit? What kind of “adventures” would
you want to have? How would you live
your life if you knew you were going to die?

 There are
many people in the world who have considered these questions very
seriously. They have put deep thought
into what their actions will be in the near future. These people have done this because they have
been given a death sentence. Whether by
a court implementing the death sentence or from a doctor providing the
devastating news of a terminal illness, these people have had to decide what
they would do with their lives before time runs out.

 Now it’s
your turn. You have just been notified that
you have been given both the death sentence for your crimes and you have also
been diagnosed with the terminal “illness” called life. What do you do now?

 For those
of you ready to have me committed, here are some scriptural references for you
to consider: “for all have sinned”
(Romans 3:23), “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23), and, “take up your
cross daily” (Luke 9:23). God has told
us that we have all sinned and that the punishment for our sins is death. There is your terminal illness…You were born
to die!

 And, to top
it all off, you are to die to yourself daily.
The cross is a tool used for execution just like a lethal injection or a
hanging. In order for Jesus to live
through you, you must not be living worldly.

 So, now
that you know you are a “DEAD MAN WALKING”, what do you do? Do you party like it’s your last night on
earth? Or, do you serve God like it’s
the day before eternity? The choice is
yours.

 May God
bless you and keep you safe in all that you do in His name. Remember, the fastest way up is to kneel
down. I encourage you to realize that
now is your chance to “Live Like You’re Dying!!”

Written by: Robert

Years
ago, I worked in the financial world.Everything revolved around money and the perceived value of things.During this time, I was exposed to a
“financial tool” designed to help you determine if you should hire work done or
do it yourself.

The
first thing this program did incorrectly was assume that everyone has equal
abilities, i.e. everybody can build a house, rebuild a motor, operate heavy
equipment, and so on.The next thing it
did poorly in my opinion was to assume that everyone had extra money lying
around. The theory behind it was that if
you made $10 an hour at work, you should hire somebody that makes $7 an hour to
cut your grass.Likewise, if you make
$10 an hour and you mechanic charges $20, you should fix your car yourself.

We
have further allowed society to limit us by how much money we do or do not
make.Unfortunately, we actually listen
to these crack pot ideas and put ourselves down. Many stories exist about the poor boy from
the wrong side of the tracks making it “big” when he grew up because he wanted
to prove society wrong about him.He
once had friends around, but stepped on all of them to climb his way to the
top.He now has tons of money, but no
one he can trust around him.

Right
now, you are at a crossroads in your life. You can listen to the nay sayers who put you down and belittle you, you
can break the chains around you and step on those you love to “succeed”, or you
can get on the path with Jesus.Personally, I’ll take the path least traveled.

Many
sit in jails across the country because they were told growing up that they
were worthless and nobody.They think
that there is nothing they can do from their position. They have let society determine their
self-worth.

Sadly,
some of you reading this right now can relate. You feel trapped in where society has placed you. But, I offer this as hope.Paul spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ
everywhere he went…even through the jails that housed him as a prisoner. He didn’t sit in the corner and cry.He got in the middle of the cell and
preached. And, he prayed. The Bible tells us to work as if we’re being
watched, no matter where we are.

When
we are serving Him to the fullest of our abilities, then we have determined our
self-worth.It is not for us or society
to put a value on our own life.As a
final thought, if you are only worth $10 an hour, how much would you be willing
to pay for just another day when it comes time to meet our Maker?

Regardless
of what anyone thinks, God saw enough potential in you to send His only Son to
die and rise for you.May God bless you
and keep you in all that you do in His name.Remember, the fastest way up is to kneel down.
